SolaX Case Sweden | 1 MWh TRENE XL Battery Energy Storage System for a Modern Farm

Commercial Energy Storage is helping modern farms unlock greater energy independence and smarter electricity management. At Nuntorp Gård in Sweden, SolaX Power has successfully commissioned a TRENE XL Energy Storage System together with the Nexus Zero Switching Cabinet, delivering an intelligent energy storage solution tailored for agricultural applications. Integrated with a 400 kW solar PV system and 400 kW EV charging infrastructure, the solution enables the farm to: ✅ Increase solar self-consumption ✅ Reduce peak demand through peak shaving ✅ Optimize electricity costs with time-of-use energy management ✅ Enhance energy resilience with island mode capability During the visit, Tommy Lykke, Country Manager of SolaX Power Nordics, asked Nuntorp Gård owner Richard Johansson an important question: "Why did you decide to invest in a battery energy storage system?" Richard explained that the goal was not only to store excess solar energy, but also to strengthen the farm's energy independence, manage peak demand, and take advantage of lower electricity prices by storing off-peak energy for use during the day. "This solution allows us to become more energy independent. We can store solar energy during the day, use it at night, and reduce our peak power demand."
