A guy that used to play for the Savannah Bananas, and was traded for CASH CONSIDERATIONS just 7 months ago is now a nAll-Star in MLB. White Sox Center Fielder Tristan Peters may very well have the best story in all of baseball right now. Growing up in Winkler, Manitoba- home to less than 14,000 people- it's no surprise that Peters didn't even sniff recruiting boards in high school- in fact, his name isn't even in any recruiting databases. Without being on any D1 college radars, he had to find another way to get there- taking the JUCO ball route instead, and playing 2 seasons for Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Arizona. His play there earned him a spot on Southern Illinois' team, where he batted .350 with 77 hits in 60 games, and quickly made his way onto MLB Draft Boards. The Brewers selected him 207th overall in the 2021 Draft, but he still had a long way to go before cracking an MLB lineup- and his first stop in that journey was actually suiting up in 17 games for the team famous for doing TikTok dances, the Savannah Bananas. From there, he spent the next 4 seasons climbing the ranks in the Brewers, Giants, and Rays minor league systems, before finally reaching the big leagues last August, playing in his first 4 games and going hitless. And that was all the time he'd get with Tampa, They sent him back down, and then last offseason, traded him to Chicago... just for CASH. And it's safe to say that was a good deal for the White Sox. He cracked their opening day roster, and has absolutely LIT it up as a 26-year-old rookie- batting .301, hitting for the CYCLE just last week, and now making the All-Star Game. Not too shabby for a guy who didn't have a hit in the majors just a few months ago.
