𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐠 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬. For many years, what began as a single mission to end the cruel dog meat trade has evolved and become a journey that advanced to a shared commitment against animal cruelty all together. December 17, 2025 was a day of recognition and celebration of the milestone and incredible impact we have all achieved all together. We thank the DA – BAI, the PNP, the NMIS, the DILG, the LGUs, the Veterinarians, the Prosecutors, the private institutional partners, the volunteers, advocates and the AKF core team. Together, we confronted deeply rooted cruel practices, challenged harmful norms, and strengthened policies and the implementation of animal welfare laws. It is only through a sustained action and collaboration, that we are able to save countless animals from this cruel trade: that illegal operations have been dismantled, dog meat traders and communities have begun to shift towards compassion and understanding. More importantly, the conversation has changed. Compassion is no longer on the margins, it is moving steadily toward the mainstream. We are not only celebrating our successes, but we are reaffirming lasting bonds. Until cruelty has no place in our society, we keep moving forward.
