In four years, AI adoption has nearly tripled across the European business landscape. THE SIZE GAP Company size creates dramatic differences in adoption rates: - Small enterprises (10-49 employees): 17% - Medium enterprises (50-249 employees): 30% - Large enterprises (250+ employees): 55% More than half of large companies have integrated AI into their operations. Operational AI and advanced machine learning remain relatively rare outside large enterprises. WHY COMPANIES DON'T ADOPT Among companies that considered AI but chose not to implement: - 71% cite lack of relevant expertise - 52.5% cite unclear legal consequences - 49% cite data protection and privacy concerns Only 21% said AI wouldn't be useful for their business. The demand exists. The barriers are expertise, regulation, and infrastructure. GROWTH TRAJECTORY Year-over-year increases were recorded in 26 of 27 EU countries.
