Surah Najm is the 53rd chapter of the Quran, consisting of 62 verses. The surah is named after the star mentioned in the first verse, which is believed to be the star Sirius. One of the most well-known verses of Surah Najm is verse 32, which states, "So whoever Allah wants to guide - He expands his breast to [contain] Islam; and whoever He wants to misguide - He makes his breast tight and constricted as though he were climbing into the sky. Thus does Allah place defilement upon those who do not believe." Overall, Surah Najm emphasizes the importance of faith, good deeds, and following Allah's guidance, while warning against disbelief and the worship of false gods.
