It’s me MT and welcome to both the Heavy Spoilers Show AND this breakdown of the 1997 Face/Off movie starring Nicholas Cage and John Travolta. There’s also a good amount of fun facts and little easter eggs in this super cheesy wild ride of a movie…like how the entire thing actually takes place in the Jurassic Park universe. So brace yo faces because we’re about to break this thing on down right now, my Nerd Babies! Face/Off was directed by John Woo, who previously worked with John Travolta on the 1996 action film “Broken Arrow”. Joining John Woo in bringing the film to life is composer John Powell…with this film being Powell's first ever movie he’s composed after studying under the legendary Hans Zimmer. We hear Powell’s fantastic score as the movie begins with John Travolta’s Sean Archer on a merry go round with his son Michael six years in the past. Before the production recorded John Powell’s score, the song that was supposed to be playing during this tragic scene was apparently “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. But that was merely a placeholder track.
