U.S. Air Force Powerful F-16 Fighter Jet in Japan.

In 2025, the U.S. Air Force highlighted the F-16 Fighting Falcon (commonly known as the "Viper") through several major training exercises, operational milestones, and public demonstrations. The most notable "Range Day" event occurred at Misawa Air Base, showcasing the jet's lethality and the technical skill of the airmen who maintain it. While the USAF plans to eventually phase out the F-16, 2025 proved the platform is far from retired. The service continues to upgrade the fleet to Block 70/72 standards (including APG-83 AESA radars) to keep the aircraft relevant through 2040.
