This Paint Recipe Is Over 800 Years Old and I'm Completely Obsessed

I found a paint recipe that artists and craftspeople have been using since the 1200s — and it works beautifully on furniture, wood, and decor. It's called egg tempera. It dries ultra matte, bonds permanently to the surface, and creates that authentic aged finish that modern paint just can't replicate. The best part? You can make it with ingredients you already have at home right now.
