Welcoming the delegation to Pakistan, the prime minister said Pakistan and China enjoyed historic and longstanding ties. He praised China’s remarkable development under the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and said he was looking forward to visiting China later this month. Shehbaz Sharif appreciated IBI Group’s decision to establish its Digital Economy Headquarters in Pakistan and expressed satisfaction over the growing business-to-business cooperation between the two countries. The prime minister said the initiative would help strengthen cooperation in the digital economy, promote investment and enhance industrial collaboration between Pakistan and China. Expressing confidence in Pakistan’s economy, Qian Xiaojun said IBI aimed to support digital reforms in Pakistan’s economy. He added that the establishment of the company’s digital economy headquarters in Pakistan would create significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by providing them access to Chinese markets. The delegation’s visit follows the Pakistan-China Business-to-Business Investment Conference held during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Beijing in September 2025. Federal Minister for Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and other senior officials also attended the meeting.
