And when the final sprint to the 18th green was complete, it was PGA professionals Will Robson and James Harding who emerged victorious, edging defending champions Luke Willett and Luke Bone to capture the coveted 2026 British Speedgolf Pairs title. The demanding Mid Herts layout delivered a true test of endurance as much as golfing precision, with lengthy green-to-tee transitions pushing athletes to their limits. Competitors were released at four-minute intervals in the fast-paced team pairs format, where players alternate shots and race the clock to produce the lowest combined Speedgolf score, golf strokes plus time taken to complete the course. Fuelled by adrenaline, determination and relentless pace, players powered through the closing holes before launching into the sport’s trademark sprint finish immediately after holing out on the 18th green. The diverse field showcased the spirit of the sport, featuring brothers, a father-and-son pairing, a junior team, three mixed pairs and even a married couple. In a dramatic demonstration of just how explosive elite speedgolf can be, both the winners and runners-up completed the 18-hole challenge in under 38 minutes. Ultimately, it was the superior golf performance that proved decisive. Robson and Harding carded a superb 73 in 37 minutes and 38 seconds, earning a winning Speedgolf score of 110:38. The victory further underlines the pedigree of the winning duo. Harding arrives as the reigning 2025 British Speedgolf Solo Champion, while Robson recorded an impressive fifth-place finish in last year’s solo championship. As the dust settles on the opening European Speedgolf event of the 2026 season, attention is already turning to the next major showdown.
