Everton conceded three second-half goals against Sunderland on Sunday afternoon, falling to a 3-1 defeat in their final home fixture of the 2025/25 season. The match marked captain Seamus Coleman’s last appearance for the Club on home soil. The iconic skipper – who this week announced he’ll be ending his proud stint as an Everton player at the end of the current campaign – was a late substitute for the Blues. Merlin Röhl’s deflected effort just before the interval earned the hosts a half-time lead at Hill Dickinson Stadium, but Brian Brobbey levelled for the Black Cats early in the second half, clinically taking advantage of an Everton mistake. The Blues couldn’t claw back the lead, however, and the visitors netted a second through Enzo Le Fee on 81 minutes, before finding a third in stoppage time. Wilson Isidor took the game out of Everton’s reach.
