Paul was going to make new family here, and he just started and all girls loved him! So I am so sad..! I actually worry that Joanne or Jessica may die with heart broken... I just have to pray!! This video was filmed on May 14th—just one day before Paul passed away. On May 13th, Paul did venture outside, but he reportedly spent the entire time hiding down in the moat. Animals tend to conceal themselves when they are feeling vulnerable or when death is drawing near. On May 14th, I went to visit the family. Paul remained indoors the entire time and did not come outside. Joanne and Imani, in particular, kept going back inside repeatedly to check on him. A veterinarian was already on-site; and while I believed Paul would surely recover—given that San Diego provides the world's finest medical care for Gorillas—I was nonetheless worried, as Paul's father, Trib, had also passed away in his mid-thirties. The doors remained open until 1:00 PM, allowing both Paul and his family to move freely between the indoor and outdoor areas; however, around 1:00 PM, the doors were closed. Since he had spent all of Wednesday hiding in the moat, and then refused to come out of the indoor enclosure on Thursday, I sensed that his condition was quite serious. Sadly, Paul passed away on Friday, May 15th, due to an infection. The family has once again lost their Silverback, and they must now endure a period of deep sorrow. Paul was truly a handsome and extraordinary gorilla. The two male gorillas Paul grew up with—Milt and M’bill—had already crossed the Rainbow Bridge in their youth, while still in their teens. Paul was the only survivor among that group. I hope that he has now been reunited with his childhood companions, as well as with Ione. I intend to continue sharing stories about Paul through future videos. Thank you, Paul. We will never forget you. We will love you always. このビデオはポールが亡くなる1日前の5月14日に撮影しました。 5月13日はポールは外に出て来ましたが　モートの下に隠れてずっと過ごしていたそうです。 動物たちは自分が弱い時や死が近い際に自分の姿を隠す傾向があります。 5月14日に私はファミリーに会いに行きました。 ポールはずっと室内にいて外に出てきませんでした。 特にジョアンやイマニは、何度も室内にポールを確認しに行っていました。 獣医師もすでに来ており　サンディエゴは世界最高の医療でゴリラを管理しているのできっと良くなると信じていましたが、ポールの父親トリブも30代半ばで亡くなっているので、心配しておりました。 午後1時まではドアが開いており、ポールも家族も外に行き来、出来ましたが1時頃ドアが閉まりました。 水曜日はずっとモートで姿を隠し　木曜日は室内から出て来なかったので、かなりシリアスだと感じました。 ポールは感染症により　5月15日金曜日に残念ながら亡くなりました。 家族はまたシルバーバックをなくし　悲しい日々を過ごさなくては行けません。 ポールは本当にイケメンで特別なゴリラでした。 ポールが幼少期一緒に過ごした二人のオスゴリラ、ミルトとエムビルは10代の若い時期に、先に虹の橋を渡りました。ポールだけはその中で生き残りでした。 今は幼馴染の彼らとアイオンと再開してくれてる事を願います。今後もポールのお話は動画でシェアしたいと思います。 ポールありがとうございました。　いつまでもあなたを忘れません。ずっと愛しています。
