Hosein examines Islam, the Great War, and the events which lie beyond it through the lens of Islamic eschatology. The lecture begins by introducing the meaning of eschatology, not merely as a study of the signs of the End Times, but as a roadmap to the End of History. Sheikh Imran explains that the movement of history cannot be understood through politics alone, but must also be read through revelation, prophecy, and the philosophy of history. A major focus of this lecture is the contrast between the modern Western claim of the “End of History” and the religious view that history began with Truth and will end with the validation of Truth. Drawing upon the Qur’an, Hadith, religious history, international relations, and eschatology, he explains the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic understandings of the end of history, the return of the Messiah, and the role of Dajjal in impersonating the Messiah. The discussion then develops into a sweeping analysis of the Great War, Jerusalem, Constantinople, and the events which Sheikh Imran argues will follow the war.
