What a lovely sight this morning! Early-morning ballooning

Watching the world wake up is one of life's quieter pleasures. Before the roads fill, before the phones begin their relentless demands, there's a brief spell when the day seems to belong only to the birds and the early risers. Hot-air ballooning insists on an early start, and after a while, you stop seeing it as an inconvenience and begin to think of it as one of the best parts of the experience. I didn't fly this morning, but somehow that hardly mattered. Standing in the cool dawn, listening to birdsong interrupted now and then by the deep, satisfying roar of a balloon burner, was enough. It's an oddly comforting soundtrack, nature carrying on as it always has, with the occasional reminder that humans still like to drift across the sky in enormous fabric bags. There's something about those first quiet hours that puts the day in its proper perspective. Before the rush and the noise, you're given a small pocket of calm, and it has a remarkable way of setting you up for whatever comes next. #aviation #balloon #flying
