Silverback Oumbi Shoves Ozala Aside At Twycross Zoo

*🌳🦍Aarde and Shanga continue their integration journey at Twycross Zoo, as Oumbi asserts his authority by shoving Ozala aside in this third episode.* Things get interesting in the enclosure today as I catch some classic gorilla group dynamics. This is the third episode following the integration of newcomers Aarde and Shanga into the troop, and it is fascinating to see the process unfold. Ozala is moving about with her distinctive stiff-legged stance, with Shufai and Oumbi nearby. It seems they were all waiting for the newcomers, but the mood shifted when Oumbi decided it was time to move. He assertively shoved Ozala aside, showing exactly who is in charge. It is always rewarding to watch little Aarde, especially when he is playing with Shufai or trying out the swing chair. He really knows how to handle the older gorillas and shows no fear, even around Ozala. Asante is keeping a close eye on the little one too. Watching them navigate these new social bonds is truly special.
