令和８年　神輿ヒーロー〈 545 〉鳥越祭｜鳥越の魂を受け継ぐ者たち・本社千貫神輿の伝説が続く。 ド迫力。

鳥越神社例大祭――東京を代表する神輿祭りのひとつ、鳥越祭。 その中心にあるのが、都内随一の大きさを誇るといわれる 本社千貫神輿 です。 鳥越神社の御祭神は 日本武尊命、天児屋根命。 古くは「鳥越三明神」とも呼ばれ、本社、摂社第六天神、熱田大神とともに、深い信仰の歴史を今に伝えています。 本社神輿は 昭和三年 に、地元の 牧野田由好 を中心とする職人たちによって造られました。 台輪は 四尺三寸、約百三十センチ。 「千貫神輿」と称され、神輿を語る上で必ず名が挙がる名神輿です。 屋根の前後に付く神紋は 七曜星。 この星紋は、下総千葉氏との関係があるとも伝えられています。 大鳳凰、七曜星紋、独特の飾り紐、瓔珞、唐草で覆われた胴――その姿は、ただ大きいだけではなく、気品と威厳を備えた鳥越独自の美しさを放ちます。 毎年六月九日に近い日曜日、午前七時頃、睦會の肩によって本社神輿は担ぎ出されます。 これが鳥越祭の始まりを告げる 宮出し。 睦會が着流しで担ぐ姿は、鳥越神社ならではの伝統であり、その団結の強さを感じさせます。 明神鳥居を出た神輿は宮元町会へ渡り、二十三ヶ町の氏子町会を巡ります。 現在の町名ではなく、古くからの町名、旧区画によって行われるところにも、鳥越祭の歴史の重みがあります。 そして夕刻。 高張提灯が町を照らし、神輿には四十個の弓張提灯が灯されます。 電球ではなく、蝋燭の火。 揺れる神輿、揺れる提灯の光、担ぎ手の声、観衆の熱気――そのすべてが一つになる瞬間、鳥越名物 夜祭り が始まります。 鳥居前に神輿が差し掛かる頃、鳥越界隈は数十万の人々で埋め尽くされます。 拍手と歓声の中、神輿と駕輿丁、そして民衆が一体となる。 これこそが鳥越祭の真髄であり、本社千貫神輿が持つ気品と力の証です。 これは単なる祭りの映像ではありません。 町の記憶、氏子の誇り、そして東京下町に受け継がれる神輿文化の証です。 心をひとつに、鳥越の誇りと共に。 Torigoe Shrine Reitaisai — Torigoe Matsuri — is one of Tokyo’s most famous and powerful mikoshi festivals. At the heart of this festival stands the legendary Honsha Sengan Mikoshi, the main shrine mikoshi of Torigoe Shrine, known as one of the largest and most prestigious mikoshi in Tokyo. The enshrined deities of Torigoe Shrine are Yamato Takeru no Mikoto and Ame no Koyane no Mikoto. In ancient times, Torigoe Shrine was also known as Torigoe Sanmyōjin, referring to the three sacred deities connected to the main shrine, the auxiliary shrine Dairoku Tenjin, and Atsuta Ōkami. The Honsha Mikoshi was built in 1928, Shōwa 3, mainly by the local craftsman Makino Tadayoshi, together with other craftsmen from the area. Its base measures four shaku and three sun, about 130 centimeters, and it is known as the Sengan Mikoshi, a name that always appears whenever people speak about the greatest mikoshi in Japan. The sacred crest seen on the front and rear of the roof is the Seven Stars Crest — Shichiyōsei. This star crest is said to have a connection with the Chiba clan of old Shimōsa Province. With its great golden phoenix, seven-star crest, unique decorative ropes, hanging ornaments, and body covered with arabesque patterns, the Torigoe Honsha Mikoshi is not only massive in size — it carries dignity, beauty, and a sacred presence that belongs only to Torigoe. Every year, on the Sunday closest to June 9th, the Honsha Mikoshi is carried out at around 7:00 in the morning on the shoulders of the Mutsumi-kai. This moment is known as Miyadashi, the sacred departure of the mikoshi from the shrine. The sight of the Mutsumi-kai carrying the mikoshi in traditional kimono-style clothing is one of the unique traditions of Torigoe Shrine, and it reflects the strong unity and spirit of the group. After passing through the Myōjin torii gate, the mikoshi is handed over to the Miyamoto neighborhood association, and then continues its procession through the twenty-three ujiko neighborhoods. One of the most remarkable aspects of Torigoe Matsuri is that the procession is not based on modern town names, but on old neighborhood names and traditional divisions that have been passed down through generations. As evening approaches and the neighborhood procession nears its end, the famous Torigoe Night Festival begins. Tall lanterns welcome the mikoshi through the streets. Forty bow-shaped lanterns are attached to the mikoshi, and unlike many modern festivals where electric lights are used, Torigoe preserves the atmosphere of the past by lighting them with real candles. On the front lanterns, the words Gohonsya or Torigoe Shrine can be seen glowing in the night. When the Honsha Mikoshi enters the Miyairi procession, the streets around Torigoe become filled with hundreds of thousands of spectators. The mikoshi rises and falls on the shoulders of the carriers. The candlelight trembles. The voices of the bearers, the sound of the crowd, the movement of the shrine, and the heat of the people all become one. This is the true highlight of Torigoe Matsuri. When the mikoshi approaches the torii gate, the entire area turns into a sea of excitement. Amid applause and roaring voices, the mikoshi, the bearers, and the people become united in one powerful moment. That dignity, that energy, and that sacred beauty are what make the Torigoe Honsha Mikoshi so legendary. This is not only a festival video.
