Description

Hi everyone! Welcome on board a brand new ride. We go back to the 27th of March where I finally got to do a ride on the 'Sealand Route' again. In other words: the province of Zeeland! Haven't been driving here since 1.5 years. Even had to update my route knowledge in the mean time. Here's a video of the full route up and down the line! :D 0:00 Roosendaal We depart from Roosendaal after I already drove the whole route from Amsterdam to here. You can see the route from Amsterdam to Roosendaal a three video's back on my timeline. :D 5:26 Old Diesel Locomotive I love it when old stuff gets saved this way! 5:33 Permissive Light Signal Explained A P-signal is a fully automatic signal not operated by the train dispatcher. 6:53 Kragge Connection Connection into a small yard. 8:26 Bergen op Zoom First stop on the route. 9:42 Train Length Signs Explained Our train is a VIRM with 6 carriages of about 27 meters each. We stop at stop sign 6. 13:36 Longest Dutch Curved Track + Province Border Start you timer to see how long it takes at full speed to get passed this one! 15:59 Kreekrakspoorbrug 18:10 Rilland-Bath We drive the 'fast intercity' today. Right behind us the intercity coming from the Zwolle direction is running which will make stop on all stations on the route between Roosendaal and Vlissingen. 18:44 Flood Wall (one of many) In case of a flood these doors can be closed to safe many lives! Of course all train traffic will be cancelled during the closing of the doors. 19:34 Krabbendijke 22:12 Kruiningen-Yerseke 23:29 Vlakebrug // Traction Signs Explained On many request the traction signs explained. Pantograph stay in the up position and reaches its highest point just before the end of the power line. 23:59 Testing Trains Horns 25:35 Kapelle-Biezelinge 27:34 Goes 30:58 Yard Steamer Goes - Borsele The Dutch province of Zeeland has a steamer too! :D 34:15 Train Dispatcher Testing Back Up Line Weird call from the train dispatcher (unknown noise). He was testing the backup line for the GSMR. That works! :D 36:01 Critical Point Explained A critical point is mostly mentioned when running on the long stretched tracks where drivers could easily be fooled by the feeling of distance in thick fog. The light signal on braking distance before the light signal the secures the critical point has the yellow beacons. 36:54 Lewedorp 38:24 Arnemuiden 39:18 Arnebrug (No Wires) 40:24 Middelburg 45:45 Vlissingen Souburg 46:24 Vlissingen Arrival After arrival I had a short break and then drove back to Amsterdam with the same train. 49:30 Vlissingen Departure I'll show you the ride back until Roosendaal today. :) 52:30 Vlissingen Souburg 53:56 Middelburg 58:00 Arnebrug (No Wires) 58:41 Arnemuiden 53:15 Lewedorp 1:04:02 Testing Trains Horns Also in the other cab the test! Every 24 hours in all train cabins. 1:05:02 Goes 1:05:51 Yard Steam Train Goes - Borsele 1:09:14 WUBO Warning Lights Explained! What about those white lights is a very common question. Well here's the explanation! A WUBO warns railway workers for oncoming trains. Coming from the direction of the point that blocks the view for the workers. 1:11:24 Kapelle-Biezelinge 1:12:52 Vlakebrug (No Wires) // WIBR Warning Lights Explained Other than a WUBO a WIBR is located at bridges and warns railway workers for trains from both directions. Do when the light flashes for the track it revers to a train can come from either sides on that track. 1:13:54 Kruiningen-Yerseke 1:16:53 Krabbendijke 1:18:10 Temporary Speed Limit Signs Explained A temporary speed limit is always announced with the first flashing sign. Then the speed limit. On braking distance the start of the temporary speed. And of course at the end the green light for continuing on normal speed. 1:18:41 Rilland-Bath 1:21:53 Kreekrakspoorbrug 1:22:53 Province Border + Longest Dutch Curved Track Enjoy that long curve again! 1:26:06 Bergen op Zoom 1:31:34 Kragge Connection 1:32:58 Old Diesel Locomotive The oldie seen from the other side. :D 1:35:00 Roosendaal Approach Enjoy the ride into Roosendaal together with that ongoing freight train! :D 1:36:08 Roosendaal I hope you've enjoyed the ride and learned some new stuff again.
