From an illegal pet in a war-zone to a second chance at life. ❤️‍🩹

In 2024, The Big Cat Sanctuary set out to rescue five lions from war-torn Ukraine. One of those lions was little Vanda. She was found being kept illegally as a pet, half the size she should have been at her age, and had never been outside or felt grass beneath her paws. 💔 Vanda was found and rehabilitated by @uaanimals, given an appropriate diet and shelter, but bombs were still falling nearby. Now, Vanda lives in the Lion Rescue Centre here at the Sanctuary in the peaceful Kent countryside. 🌿 She is a happy, healthy lioness, safe from both the war and neglect, receiving the love, care and second chance at life she truly deserves. 🥹 #rescue #animal #wildlife #lion #cub
