Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter Step inside the glass doors of Professor Sprout's Greenhouse in this walkthrough at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. Built by the original filmmakers and based on scenes from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, this full-size greenhouse allows guests to become Hogwarts students for the day. As part of the tour's Backlot area, the Greenhouse lets visitors grab a pair of earmuffs and repot a screeching Mandrake as part of an authentic Herbology lesson. Located beside the Dursley House on the Backlot, the greenhouse is filled with magical plants straight from the films, including a hanging Venomous Tentacula overhead and a long row of Mandrakes on a worktable. The movement of the Mandrakes is achieved through cleverly hidden animatronic mechanisms. As you walk through this fully themed space, you'll spot the exact props and details seen on screen, all brought to life with sound effects and interactive elements. The greenhouse is part of the expansive Backlot area, home to other famous Wizarding World sets including the Knight Bus, the Weasleys' Burrow, Sirius Black's Motorbike and Sidecar, and Number 4 Privet Drive, where Harry lived with the Dursleys. Nearby, the Backlot Stage hosts the new Secrets of Sound Effects show during the First Year at Hogwarts event, revealing how magical sounds, flying scenes, and Quidditch matches were brought to life for the Harry Potter films. Guests can also enjoy a Butterbeer from the Butterbeer Bar or relax at the Backlot Café. The First Year at Hogwarts event runs from 7th May to 7th September 2026 and celebrates the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Throughout the Studio Tour, guests can discover original props, costumes, interactive displays, Wizard Chess pieces, Fluffy the three-headed dog, and special experiences inspired by Harry Potter's first year at Hogwarts. Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter opened in 2012 and is built on the original Leavesden Studios site where all eight Harry Potter films were produced. It features authentic sets, costumes, props, creature effects, and filmmaking secrets from across the Wizarding World. Leavesden Studios is also home to the upcoming HBO Harry Potter television series, starring Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The new adaptation is expected to premiere in 2026. In addition to London, Warner Bros. has expanded the Studio Tour experience to Tokyo and Hollywood, allowing Harry Potter fans around the world to explore authentic filmmaking history from the Wizarding World.
