[4K] Raven at Valgard: Realm of the Vikings, join us for a full on ride experience on this legendary reborn coaster at Paultons Park as we race through Viking landscapes, airtime hills and wild mouse style turns on one of Valgard’s most exciting family thrill attractions. Raven is one of the major attractions within Valgard: Realm of the Vikings and gives new life to one of Paultons Park’s classic roller coasters. Formerly known as Cobra, this Gerstlauer Bobsled Coaster originally opened at Paultons Park on 18th March 2006 before receiving a full Viking themed transformation as part of the major Valgard expansion in 2026. Now operating as Raven, the ride has been extensively rethemed to fit the Norse mythology inspired world of Valgard. Riders take flight as Viking scouts, soaring through rugged terrain, tight wild mouse style turns and camelback hills that deliver exciting airtime and speed. Manufactured by Gerstlauer and designed by Ing.-Büro Stengel, Raven reaches heights of approximately 54 feet, speeds of over 31mph and features more than 1,400 feet of steel track. Single car trains seat four riders and race through compact but forceful elements that provide a highly energetic coaster experience. As Cobra, the ride served as a major thrill attraction for nearly two decades and was a key part of Paultons Park’s lineup before being transformed into Raven. The retheme preserved the popular coaster layout while completely refreshing its identity, station, queue line and surrounding environment to integrate seamlessly into Valgard: Realm of the Vikings. Valgard: Realm of the Vikings is one of the largest and most ambitious developments in Paultons Park history. Alongside Raven, the land includes Drakon, the park’s first ever inverting roller coaster and the headline thrill attraction of the area. Valgard also introduces Vild Swing, the UK’s first ART Engineering Wild Swing flat ride, offering gravity defying family thrills. Younger guests can explore The Orchard Playground, a large Viking themed adventure space, while families can dine inside the impressive Nordic Feasting Hall. Valgard transformed former attractions including Dragon Roundabout and Magma while significantly redeveloping open land to create a major new Viking themed destination. Paultons Park, located in Hampshire’s New Forest, has become one of the UK’s leading family theme parks. The park is home to more than 70 rides and attractions including Peppa Pig World, the world’s first Peppa Pig themed land, Lost Kingdom, featuring Velociraptor, Flight of the Pterosaur, Dino Chase and Splash Lagoon, Tornado Springs, home to Storm Chaser, Cyclonator, Buffalo Falls and Al’s Auto Academy, and Ghostly Manor, the interactive dark ride that opened in 2025. With Valgard now open, Paultons Park continues its rapid expansion with its a major new water ride planned for 2027.
