Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines or How I Flew from London to Paris in 25 hours and 11 Minutes (yes that is the official title of the film) was a British epic period comedy film released in 1965. Directed and co-written by Ken Annakin, the film boasted an international cast that included Stuart Whitman, Sarah Miles, Robert Morley, Terry Thoms, James Fox, Jean Pierre Cassel, Gert Frobe and Alberto Sordi. Set in 1910, the film follows the adventures of airmen from around the world as they compete in a fictitious air race from London to Paris, with the winner taking home a $10,000-pound prize. When released to the public in 1965, the film was a big success and among a number of award nominations earnt an Academy Award nomination for best original screenplay and won the BAFTA Award for best British Costume Design - Colour.
