The Larson Electronics EPS-PB10-2XC-M1 explosion proof single push button switch is designed for use in hazardous work areas, such as chemical plants, oil refineries and settings where combustible gases or dust may be present. This 10-amp device features the following explosion proof ratings: Class I Division 1 and 2; and Class II Division 1 and 2. In industrial and commercial settings, the front-operated push button switch may be used to support basic features of machines lacking electrical circuits for control. When ordering this unit, buyers may choose from 1/2" and 3/4", dead end and feed thru options.
Features: This explosion proof push button switch is rated for 10 amps at 600V AC 60 Hz. This push button features 2 contact blocks for up to 2 connections and comes in a switch configuration of 2 normally open, 2 normally closed or one normally open and one normally closed. The device supports operating temperatures between -20° to 40°C. It is enclosed in a separate sealing chamber, and the sealing chamber has smooth, double flanges that mate both to the cover and the mounting enclosure to provide flame tight joints. An "emergency purge" label can be found above the push button to ensure proper use.
On this unit, the screws consist of stainless steel captive screws and attach the sealing chamber to cover and mounting enclosure. The switch is supplied with an internal ground screw. Its housing is constructed of copper-free aluminum, finished with aluminum acrylic paint. With the robust protruding button design, workers using thick gloves may find the device easier to activate, compared to a traditional push button switch design.
Options: This device features ½” and ¾” dead end and feed thru options. Both options come with Class I, Divisions 1 and 2 (Groups C and D), Class II, Division 1 and 2 (Groups E, F and G) and Class III explosion proof ratings. The components are NRTL certified to UL 894, UL 1203 and UL 698 standards, and support NEMA 3/7, CSA Standard: C22.2 No. 30 ratings.
