Description

I believe tools are a commodity. Use them, abuse them, break them, replace them. Its not something for a show case drawer. In this video, lets discuss when to splurge, and where you can save costs when working on your car. Tools generally fall into one of three categories: 1. Expensive, high end brand names. These come with good service and warranty, and generally last a long time and are aimed at the season technician that uses it everyday. Be aware of buying into a tool brand's ecosystem, such as power tool batteries. 2. Store Brand. These have a decent exchange warranty, and for the average DIY like me, get the job done and will last a long enough time. 3. El Cheapo tools. These are made of "Chineseum" or very inferior materials. These tools might get the job done, once or twice until it breaks and then you'll be looking for a bargain on another one. Typically cheaper tools work great for specialty items that you'd rarely use. However, not all cheap stuff should be avoided as deals can be had! In this video I discuss my favourite tools I've accumulated over the years, many of which are hand-me-downs from dad or from the dollar store! Make sure you leave a comment down below on your experience with cheap (and expensive) tools whether you're a DIY or a technician!
