Description
This episode is a 2-day journey where we explore the beautiful town of Mandsaur and the scenic surroundings of Gandhi Sagar.
We begin our trip from Mandsaur, a historic city located in northwestern Madhya Pradesh — about 260 km from Udaipur, 160 km from Banswara, and roughly 90 km from Gandhi Sagar Dam.
After exploring the temples and local food of Mandsaur, we head towards Gandhi Sagar, located on the Chambal River, where we spend a peaceful evening at the Gandhi Sagar Forest Resort, surrounded by nature and breathtaking backwater views.

Shri Pashpatinath Temple - one of the most iconic landmarks of Mandsaur. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its eight-faced Shiva Linga (Ashtamukhi Shivalinga) — a rare form found only here and in Kathmandu, Nepal. Located on the banks of the Shivna River, this temple attracts thousands of devotees and is beautifully surrounded by peaceful ghats and greenery.
Muneem ji Pav Bada - a must-try local snack loved by everyone in Mandsaur.
Shri Dharmrajeshwar Temple - This is a unique rock-cut temple complex dating back to the 4th–5th century. This temple complex is carved entirely out of laterite stone, that too on single rock, it features both Hindu and Buddhist influences, making it a rare archaeological marvel in Madhya Pradesh. The calm surroundings and natural caves give this site a truly divine aura.
After exploring the temple we head to the Gandhi Sagar Forest Resort, located along the Chambal backwaters. From your balcony, you can enjoy serene water views and nature all around.
