Description
My cousin has had a TKR - A Total Knee Replacement (finally!) after a battle with progressive OA. Originally from a ACL tear and repair when we was 20 (many moons ago!), with repeat ACL damage over time.
He is at week 5.5, with the usual effusion, stiffness and loss of ROM into flexion as expected after this surgery. His quads are up though and he has nearly got enough flexion to do the bike comfortably.
Big focus in his rehab is aiming at correcting the internal rotation of the hip that has been there for so long as a weakened movement pattern - before he then progresses to single leg exercises
1. A-P Mobilisation into Flexion
2. Swiss Ball Squats
3. Sit to Stand (Split Stance)
