Description

Amtrak painted several locomotives into special paint schemes in 2021 to celebrate the company's 50th Anniversary. One unit, P42DC type number 108, was painted into an eye catching livery Amtrak officially labels as "Phase 6", the 6th major scheme the railroad has applied to its equipment. 108 is the only P42 locomotive to wear this scheme. In late 2025, the engine was sent to the West Coast for the first time ever to work on Amtrak Cascades trains out of Seattle. In this video, we will talk about why the locomotive was sent west and then take a look at several scenes of the locomotive in action.
