U.S. President Donald Trump has met China’s Xi Jinping for the start of their high-stakes summit in Beijing. A gun salute, military display and the playing of the two countries’ national anthems followed a handshake between the two leaders. They are due to meet for bilateral closed-door talks at the Great Hall of the People for most of Thursday.
