No Obstacle for a Wrinkly Old Man: Wild Buffalo Finds the Best Grass! On the way home from town we spotted this very old feral water buffalo bull peacefully grazing by the track, and it was interesting and even comical to watch him gently pushing his way through the debris of a fallen tree, lifting sticks and bulldozing branches, in order to obtain access to the most succulent and nutritious blades of grass that evidently were not only tempting but very much worth the extra effort. At his age, approximately twenty-five years, he needs every bit of energy and nutrition possible in order to keep the wolf... uh, dingos... from the door. This old man will likely survive this dry season, with the rains about to arrive, but will probably perish next year, weakened in the heat and eaten alive by dingos and crows and eagles... and meat ants. We admire these legendary beasts even though we also know they are harmful to the environment and need to be managed. #oldage #respectyourelders #oldman
