2027 MG Starlight Hybrid SUV Spied First Time - Explained All Changes, Spec, Features, Engine & More

MG Motor India’s new SUV for the Indian market has been spied testing for the first time. It is based on the Wuling Starlight 560. A heavily camouflaged test mule was recently spotted near Vadodara in Gujarat. Recently, there have been reports in the media suggesting that MG is planning to introduce a 7-seater SUV to compete with the Mahindra XUV 7XO. The new SUV (codenamed: 520) could be launched by October this year. The latest spy images confirm that MG has indeed lined up the Starlight 560 for the Indian market. The SUV measures over 4.7 meters in length, and its wheelbase is over 2.8 meters, which is longer than the XUV 7XO. Reports suggest that the Starlight 560 will be offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 104 BHP and 130 Nm and an electric motor on the front axle for a combined output of 194 BHP and 230 Nm. MG claims that it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 170 km/h. The SUV has a 20.5 kWh battery, which gives it a range of 100 km in pure electric mode. There’s also an EV version of the Starlight 560.
