Baby's terrible accident brought him to loving sanctuary.

Baby was abandoned on the road by his owner. A bull calf is usually worthless to a dairy farmer, and though most bull calves perish in other ways, some are cast onto the road. Baby didn't understand traffic and probably stood innocently in the road as a motorist flew by, smashing into his face. His wounds were deep and serious. We were not sure if he would be able to eat; if he would have the will to eat. He'd need extra loving care to brighten his spirits enough to pull through. Our wound dressings were not just a time for treatment, but also a chance to reassure Baby. He bonded immediately with other animals in treatment, and when he healed, the sunshine broke through!
