Abandoned at Birth: Baby Turkey Living Dangerously at the Backyard Bird Feeder! This little brushturkey might look like he/she is having a hard time, but in reality he/she is doing just fine. They hatch out of a big nesting mound on the ground made of leaves and sticks and immediately look-after themselves with no guidance or care from their parents. As soon as their feathers are dry they can fly, and grow rapidly to become full adults about ten months later. In this video the youngster gets swooped by aggressive noisy miners and seeks shelter, but soon returns once they go-away.
