February, 1945. On a small volcanic island in the middle of the Pacific, one of the fiercest and bloodiest battles of the Second World War was raging. Above the ash-strewn and rocky flats, the men of Easy Company, 28th Marine Regiment were about to make history, for they had reached the summit of the infamous Mt Suribachi, signalling to their comrades below that the imposing volcano was now in American hands. In this video, we’ll follow in the footsteps of those men and re-tell the story of that fight, in the Battle for Iwo Jima.
