Local and tourists visit this place during the Amarkantak tour. There is a temple nearby where the Son River origin point can be seen. Maa Narmada Temple - This temple is known for the origin point of the holy Narmada River. It is also believed that one of the 51 Shakti Peethas where Devi Sati’s right buttock fell. Pataleshwar Temple - It is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiv. It is known for its unique architecture and intricate carvings. Indian Coffee House (Amarkantak) - We had lunch here and the food was amazing. Dal Fry - ₹ 190 Aloo Dum - ₹ 185 Ice Cream - ₹ 120 Kapildhara - This place is about 8 KM away from the origin point of Narmada River. This river falls from a height of 100 feet and it is also believed that the Kapil Rishi used to meditate here. Dudhdhara - At a distance of 1 Km. from Kapildhara there is another beautiful waterfall on the river Narmada called Dudhdhara. Nearby there is a cave too where people used to do meditation. Shambhudhara - It is a beautiful lake situated deep in the forest. This place is surrounded by lush green landscapes. There are two breathtaking waterfalls called Hanumandhara and Laxmandhara for which one needs to do a few KM treks to see these falls. Shri Yantra Mandir - It is an ancient temple with a huge sculpture of 4 heads at the entrance. This temple is dedicated to the worship of the Yantra, which is a sacred geometric diagram that represents the universe. Mai Ki Bagiya - It is one of ye old temples of Amarkantak. It is also known as the childhood playground of the Maa Narmada. There is a garden near the temple and it is believed that the Narmada devi used to pluck flowers in this garden.
