Young Silverback Gorilla on Alert | Gentaro & Annie | Haoko's Group

May 2026, at Ueno Zoo. A clear, sunny day. Gentaro was very wary of the noise from the maintenance vehicles passing through the walkway. After that, he settled down and spent the rest of the time calmly. When Haoko, the silverback gorilla from the neighboring Haoko group, came outside, he looked around to see if it was safe. Later, Riki and Sumomo were playing together happily. Annie had a hearty appetite and was eating well. I'm very relieved to see that Annie’s belly has returned to its normal size.
