Amazing Grace: 11 years a survivor of a wired jaw!

Grace had seemed almost too fragile to survive when we rescued her 11 years ago with wire wrapped through her mouth and tied behind her head. This cruelty damaged Grace's mouth, jaw and, most of all, her trust. The steady loving kindness of our staff and volunteers was really put to the test with Grace, whose depression and fear drew her spirit inward for many days. But love is so powerful, that even the spiritually wounded little Grace slowly began to come out of her shell as her wound healed and she was surrounded by encouraging, devoted friends. Days turned to weeks, and weeks into years of happiness for dear Grace, and though she'll always be a delicate little lady, she's still going strong.
