It’s efficient, uses minimal setup, and still gives you that same comforting, aromatic bowl without standing in the kitchen. Perfect for days when you want something simple, reliable, and stress-free.
Ingredients:
Tempering
Time - 4 mins | Power - 100
Oil (तेल) - 1 tbsp
Black cardamom (काली इलाइची) - 2 nos
Bay leaves (तेज पत्ता) - 2 nos
Cumin (जीरा) - ½ tsp
Salt (नमक) - a large pinch
Water (पानी) - 1 cup
Boiled Rice In Microwave
Time - 10 mins | Microwave Power - Max
Basmati Rice (चावल) - ½ cup
Salt (नमक) - a pinch (optional)
Water (पानी) - 1 cup
Method:
1. Wash and soak ½ cup basmati rice for 15 to 20 minutes, then drain
2. In a microwave safe bowl add 1 tbsp oil, 2 black cardamom, 2 bay leaves and ½ tsp cumin seeds. Microwave on Power 100 for 3 minutes
3. Add rice, 1 cup water and a large pinch of salt to this tempering
4. Microwave on Max power for 10 minutes till rice is cooked
5. Gently mix the cooked rice into the tempering
6. Let it rest for 5 minutes, fluff gently and serve hot
