Silverback Gorilla gives the Female a passionate look | Momo & Genki

May 2026, at the Kyoto City Zoo. Mama Gorilla Genki has a busy morning. At breakfast time, she searches for her own food and eats it so the males won’t bother her. After eating, she takes care of her baby, Santaro, letting him play and nursing him. Silverback gorilla Momotaro was quietly watching Genki from behind. It was a day that made me feel Momotaro must really like Genki. Momotaro, though not quite as much as Monta, is a male gorilla who spent a long time living alone. He met the female Genki at the Kyoto City Zoo, was blessed with children, and is now the leader of a lively and cheerful group. I sincerely hope that Gentaro and Annie, as well as Monta and Momoka, will also form a cheerful and fun group.
