Description
We are feeding freshly cut first-cut hay to our sheep because in the moment, we are in a pinch. The rainy weather has made harvesting dry hay impossible and even wet hay for wrapped silage is proving difficult. So, against common practices, we decided to cut and bale our coarse first-cut hay and just make enough bales to feed each barn for one day of feeding. A lot of extra work, but this enables the sheep to have better quality hay until we are able to get them proper dry hay and until the pastures are ready.
