*ABOUT THIS FILM*
__________________
From humble beginnings
The channel began with me sharing short clips, essentially field research for my paintings, but it really took off when I invested in surveillance cameras and began streaming the action from inside owl and kestrel nests.
Developing a habitat
But filming wildlife is about more than using the right equipment. The real skill is understanding animal behaviour and creating the right habitat. I spent almost three decades developing my garden into a wildlife haven and have also restored an ash woodland and the results are incredible
Most popular moments
Among the most popular moments were when Luna the tawny owl adopted two chicks and a clip of a young barn owl experiencing thunder for the first time has had almost 30 million views.
Favourite characters
Some of the animals here have become internet starts. Like Dryer the male barn owl who has a particular fascination for his eggs and Mr Kes the kestrel who raised his chicks alone after his partner died.
Wildlife rehabilitation
Along the way I've helped rescue and return many animals to the wild. From stoats to tawny owls, you've loved watching their stories.
Highs & lows
There have been some moments that made us laugh out loud - like when stoats discovered my kids' trampoline, and some heartbreaking times - like when a leveret disappeared.
Rare sights
We've witnessed some incredible behaviour - including the moment Ozzy the tawny owl brooded his chicks and the moment a kingfisher laid her eggs.
Travel
And I've even filmed wildlife abroad, bringing you spectacular footage of jaguars from South America, penguins in the Antarctic and more.
Art
And through it all I've continued to paint the animals I watch, now filming the process so you can all watch my artwork come together.
What's next?
But one million is just the beginning - I'm hoping to continue my wildlife journey and hope you'll continue to watch to see what new wildlife stories we can uncover.
