Best time to visit is actually around monsoon or after monsoon. Kesana Village - which is well known for its unique Kala Muguni Pathara stone. This special stone is widely used in idol making, and the village is famous for its skilled artisans who have been practicing this craft for generations. There are about 150 artisans in the village. In Kesana Village, we experienced a heartwarming traditional village lunch, beautifully organised by Antarjami ji, who also helped us explore the village and its culture. Antarjami ji – 7978706484 Lunch - We had traditional food Dalma, Pumpkin Flower Pakoda, Baingan Pakoda, Sahjan ke patte ki sabji, aloo chutney, Tamatar Chutney, Badi Chura, It was truly authentic. Maa Kichakeswara Temple - After lunch, we travelled just 3 km from Kesana Village to Khiching to visit the famous Maa Kichakeswara Temple. 45 km from Keonjhar Town & 250 km from Bhubaneswar This temple is located in Mayurbhanj, Odisha, this ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its rich history and unique stone architecture. The temple is believed to have been first constructed by the Bhanj Raja, rulers of the Mayurbhanj region. The place holds immense historical and spiritual importance. We also did darshan of Maa Chamunda, adding to the spiritual essence of the visit. Stay - Instead of moving ahead to Baripada, we decided to halt for the night at Jashipur. Reaching the waterfall was an adventure in itself, as there were no clear directions or guides, and we had to explore the route on our own. Alkudar Waterfall is raw, untouched, and surrounded by dense forest—perfect for those who love offbeat destinations. 120 km from Baripada & 80 km from Keonjhar Babojola Village - Our journey continued to Babojola Village, where we were amazed by the beautiful wall paintings across the village. The cleanliness and discipline of the village stood out—there was no garbage or littering anywhere.
