Description
Since 1994, Amtrak intercity trains running in the Pacific Northwest of the US have utilized articulated tilting train sets built by the Spanish company Talgo. In 1999, the Eugene - Portland - Seattle - Vancouver corridor trains were officially branded under the name Amtrak Cascades. With growing service popularity, the Oregon Department of Transportation purchased two Series 8 trains from Talgo to help expand operations. These two trains made their debut in the summer of 2013 and continue to serve the Cascadia Rail Corridor to this day. In this video, we will take a look at both Series 8 trains in action over the last decade. While our focus will be on the northern end of the Amtrak Cascades route, we will take a look at the entire corridor in Oregon and Washington State.
