Why the EV industry needs cleaning up! #ElectricCars #EVs #EVIndustry The electric vehicle industry was sold to the public as clean, simple and inevitable. But once you look past the slogans, the picture becomes a lot messier. In this video, I look at why the EV industry needs cleaning up — not just environmentally, but commercially, politically and financially. We have seen broken promises, confusing claims, hidden costs, subsidy dependence, poor infrastructure, depreciation problems, questionable marketing, and a constant stream of headlines telling people that everything is going brilliantly. But is it? If EVs are as strong, affordable and desirable as we are constantly told, why do they need so much taxpayer support? Why are manufacturers discounting them so heavily? Why are used EV values still causing problems? Why are public chargers still expensive, unreliable or unavailable in the places people actually need them? This is not about hating electric cars. It is about asking whether the industry has been honest with consumers. Because if the EV industry wants public trust, it has to stop hiding behind green slogans and start dealing with the real-world issues drivers face. The EV industry does not just need more chargers.
