Report: Ford is gonna make a LINCOLN Bronco!?

You read that right. According to a new report in Automotive News, Ford is planning to launch a Lincoln version of the Bronco SUV to compete with... the Mercedes G-Wagen. That's gonna be an uphill battle. It sounds crazy, but I don't know, it could work? Maybe? Ever since the Town Car disappeared, Lincoln hasn't really had much of an identity outside the big Navigator. Ford needs to do something big and bold with Lincoln, and a Lincoln Bronco would certainly be that. It wouldn't be the first time Ford took a crazy swing with Lincoln—in the 2000s, it tried rebadging the F-150 as a Lincoln pickup (twice!). I wouldn't call those successes. But a fancy Bronco makes just a bit more sense, given how luxury off-roaders are selling so strongly right now. BMW and Audi are also reportedly planning their own G-Wagen fighting models. And GM doesn't have anything that could play in that segment. So Ford might have an opportunity here.
