Another Subaru Forester Hybrid Trim // 2026 Subaru Wilderness Hybrid

This is a Motormouth couple car review of the new Subaru Forester Hybrid Wilderness. Subaru unveils the 2027 Forester Wilderness Hybrid at the New York Auto Show. It offers up to 25% better fuel economy than the Wilderness gas model. It has a 2.5L Boxer engine with a hybrid system, it’s matched to an eCVT with a combined 194 horsepower, standard Symmetrical AWD. It has an upgraded suspension, improved departure and approach angles compared to the regular Wilderness model and it utilizes longer coil springs and shock absorbers to increase ground clearance to 9.3”. Yokohama Geolander tires with 17” matte black wheels are standard along with raised ladder type roof rails with an 800-pound static load capacity. The interior is similar to the Forester Hybrid with a standard 11.6” touchscreen, a 12.3” digital driver display, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, an 11-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and Wilderness exclusive grey Startex seating surfaces which is water resistant. The cargo area offers 27.5 cubic feet of space behind the second row and overall cargo space is 69 cubic feet. Pricing and trims will be announced closer to the onsale date late 2026.
