We Tested the Yum Cars Wash System… The Results Were Unexpected. In this video, Omni Garage Tauranga puts the Yum Cars detailing wash range to the test to see how it performs in a real-world professional detailing wash process. From pre-wash foam to contact wash shampoo and a foaming sealant, we run the full Yum Cars wash system on a vehicle to see how well it cleans, lubricates, and protects the paint. We begin the process using Yum Foam, a pH-balanced foaming pre-wash applied through a foam cannon. This pre-wash stage helps break down heavy dirt, road grime, sand, and contamination sitting on the surface of the vehicle. Allowing the foam to dwell helps gently loosen debris so it can be rinsed away before any contact wash begins. This step is critical for reducing the risk of swirl marks and scratches during the wash process. Next, we move into the contact wash stage using Yum Wash, a pH-balanced shampoo designed to provide strong cleaning power while delivering excellent slickness and lubrication. We use Yum Wash in the wash bucket and through the foam cannon to maximise lubrication and help reduce friction between the wash media and the paintwork. This helps safely remove remaining dirt and grime while minimising the risk of marring or scratching the paint. After completing the wash and final rinse, we apply Yum Foam Plus, an SiO₂ foaming sealant applied through the foam cannon. This product creates a temporary hydrophobic protective layer on the surface of the vehicle that can last approximately 8–12 weeks. It enhances gloss, boosts water beading, and helps make the vehicle easier to maintain during future washes. Yum Foam Plus is also a great option for topping up ceramic coated vehicles, helping refresh hydrophobic performance and maintain protection between maintenance washes. It can also be used as standalone protection on vehicles that are not ceramic coated.
