Mindfulness with Leia - 05 Desire

Craving pleasant moods. Today we will explore how we want to feel a certain way when doing something. I want to feel a certain way, Want to feel peaceful, I want to feel clear, I want to feel inspired, I want to feel uplifted and whole It can be seen as harmless, even spiritual but underneath it is still a craving. In meditation while you are sitting you ask yourself, Do I feel calm yet? Am I in a peaceful state like yesterday? You crave inner stillness but mindfulness and presence doesn’t require a perfect inner climate. When you practice mindfulness you allow each moment to unfold even when it feels dull, scattered or emotionally flat. Pleasure isn’t bad—it becomes a problem when we chase it. In mindfulness, we learn to notice pleasure—without grabbing onto it or getting disappointed when it fades. In stillness the mind might reach for a certain state. You don’t need to feel calm, you only need to feel what is here. Let yourself be exactly as you are. Let the breath move naturally. Pleasure can be an anchor, not a trap.
