Nürburgring: When "Touristenfahrten" Still Felt Like Actual Touristenfahrten!

Touristenfahrten on the Nürburgring has changed significantly over the years. Today, a typical weekend at the Nürburgring often feels more like a professional track day, filled with highly modified BMWs, Porsches and drivers completing lap after lap. The cars are faster than ever, but part of the original “Touristenfahrten” feeling has slowly disappeared. That is why we went back into the Auto Addiction archives and selected footage recorded throughout the past ten years. Back then, you never really knew what would appear around the next corner. Alongside the fast BMWs and Porsches, you could see ordinary road cars, unusual builds, classics, vans and vehicles that rarely appear on the Nordschleife today. This video is not only about speed. It is about variety, atmosphere and the feeling that almost anyone could arrive at the Nürburgring, buy a ticket and experience the world’s most famous race track.
