Moxa saved me 😭

Ever heard of moxa aka moxibustion? I’ve tried so many types of moxa (dragon bone, moxa stick, etc), which all use a special ingredient called mugwort to heat the body🔥 Why is heat and mugwort important you ask? In TCM, many health issues like cramps, low energy, and freezing hands are linked to ‘cold and damp’ accumulation in the body. And this is where moxa comes in… 🍃🚬 The interesting thing is it’s not just surface heat you’d get with a heat pad. Moxa heats MUCH deeper. Think heat from a lightbulb vs heat from the sun☀️ In TCM, mugwort has strong yang energy, and when burned it penetrates the body deeply to expel cold and dampness in the body. Its warmth helps unblock stagnation of blood and qi - which is crucial for healing. And for women, moxa is *especially* helpful. My TCM doctor told me that around 70-80% of her female patients have signs of cold in their system. Yikessss. 🥶 Every month we lose blood (warmth and nourishment), so if it’s not replenished the body gets colder, leading to a BUNCH of women’s health issues (irregular cycles, painful periods, fertility issues, fatigue and so on).
