They'd been analysing onboard audio from a rival car - pretty standard practice, trying to figure out what the competition was doing. But one team’s car had two frequencies - not what you’d expect with a single motor. And even weirder one of them was backwards. When the car slowed down, the frequency sped up. When the car accelerated, it slowed down. That's not how motors work… Unless someone had figured out something very clever… and as it turns out thy had - very clever, and very fast.
