Nick Hanna: Israel has lost the battle of ideas!

Pro-Palestine criminal defence lawyer Nick Hanna speaking at the Justice for Palestine Magan-djin organised Nakba rally in Magan-djin/Brisbane on May 17. "Israel has lost the battle of ideas," he said. The government's legal crackdown is a "sign of weakness, not strength". "The world has woken up and we are never going back to sleep," he said. 800 people rallied to commemorate the Nakba - or the Catastrophe - of 1948 where Zionist terrorist groups began the process of ethnic cleansing of Palestine in order to form the state of Israel. The rally also opposed Israel's ongoing genocide and Australia's complicity in it. We acknowledge that this was produced on stolen Aboriginal land. We express solidarity with ongoing struggles for justice for First Nations people and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
